Hi all! Well it has been over a year since I posted on my blog and I am thinking that I would like to start it up again. I just loaded my last two Youtube videos that is showing items I found at a local florist store that is going out of business. Sad to see that happen locally, never mind what you hear on the news. Our community isn't that big to start with so one less local store to support makes a difference. I found so many cool items to craft with and one of my 'resolutions' which isn't really a resolution but more of a 'better use it' is to use the goodies I have in my stash and quit hoarding!! Butterfly Album

Hi everyone, Here is my finished Butterfly Album (minus the pics). I am very pleased with my first attempt and like how it turned out. I purchased the instructions and templates from Laura Dennison at www.followingthepapertrail.com. Her Butterfly Album is just incredible, you should check out her site. It was hard for me to create and imagine the pages as I went, but am so glad I finished it. Hopefully my creative door is opened a little further after this. Let me know what you think. Birthday Card For Denise

Hi everyone, I thought today I would show you a Birthday Card that I made for my friend Denise. I really enjoyed doing this card, it took me away from the Christmas projects that are on the go (which I will start with again tomorrow hopefully) I enjoyed the nice break. the card itself was really easy, the only stamping I did was the 'a little bird told me.. and inside sentiment that says happy birtday. Both were ebmossed in gold. I used a chocolate chip cardstock to make the base cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4. I added an Ivory matt measuring 5 1/8 x 4 1/8. then I cut two coordinating pieces of designer paper both measuring 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 and 5 1/4 & 1x1/4. I then attached a couple of copper/bronze coloured leaves (taken off a christmas pick) and added a Velma Flower with a super large brad to make it show! In the middle of the card I tacked on a piece of lacy trim material Trust me the picture is not doing it justice it really is very pretty. I hope you enjoy the shot! Hi everyone! Well our time is getting short for preparing for Christmas, can you believe how quickly it is coming upon us, yikes, I am so unprepared. That being said I did watch the Grey Cup Football Game today, it was great and Montreal won! yipee!!. Although I would have been just as pleased if Saskatchewan won. During half time and after the game I started working on these mini ornaments. I hope you like them, trust me they look way better in person! Hi everyone, Well I tried to do another video, it is okay but the end got cut off and there is about 28 seconds rolling up on the next video....do you think I will figure this all out? Our First try at a Video

Hey There! Well this was our first try at a video and we thought we would show a bit of our craft space. It was a lot of fun and we decided to upload it anyway although we realise a lot of work is needed. We will redo it in better light as well as work with the camera to clean it up a bit (alot!) But I think both Anna and I are up to the challenge. It amazes me how easy it is to do this video thing ( I mean the editing and uploading part ) but it still takes me forever, I hope to look back at this one(2) in a year from now and see miraculous improvements, or not, does it really matter.... we enjoy ourselves and that is what counts. If we can put out the odd video that makes you laugh, roll your eyes or you actually find a useful tip then even better! More to come, I hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi everyone! It has been a while since I have posted to the site but that should all change now. I finally have a camera and a tripod to make decent videos with and for my birthday, hubby bought me a new program to edit and make the videos before they hit "You Tube" and the Blog. This is so exciting for me as I have wanted to do this for a very long time and it seemed like it took me forever making the decisions on what,when and how I would do the videos. This should be interesting in the next little while so bare with us as we attempt to make videos. There will be numerous mistakes and goofs, but that is okay. We will learn from these and only get better. If you have suggestions and helpful hints we would love to hear them. Hubby and I have been practicing and put together a montage of some of my cards and crafts I have done and decided to post it as my FIRST video!! Turned out good to me and I am happy! Enjoy!

Red Hat Society Box

Hi again, I know a lady that is a member of "The Red Had Society" and decided to surprise her with a gift box that is red and purple to match their colours. I finished off the box with a purple belly band and glittered flowers in red, purple and pink (pink is the colour younger red hatters wear) I also put six 3x3 note cards with envelopes in the box. Some said 'thank you' some said 'Hatty Birthday' and the others were for any purpose. She loved it and couldn't wait to show it to the other 'red hatters'. This seems like a really fun group, their whole purpose is just to enjoy life and each other. Here's to all the Red Hat Society ladies! Thanks for stopping by!

Domino Magnets

Hi everyone! Aren't these cute!! They are Dominos turned into magnets. On the flat side of the Domino I used Ranger Alcohol Inks and mixed it up until I liked it then stamped an image over the ink in black. Then to top it off I used a rather thick coating of diamond glaze and let it dry. I attached a magnet to the back and voila! They are super cute and I hope you like them too. Thanks for looking!

Vintage ATC Swap

Hi Everyone, I have entered into an Vintage ATC swap over on Paper Craft Planet (their link is on the right side of my blog) and have completed and sent in this as my swap. I actually really like how it turned out. I used several inks to distress and age both layers. I also made the brads myself by embossing them with copper coloured embossing powder as I didn't have any brads in this colour. I used heat and stick powder on the coat and then sprinkled with dazzling diamond glitter (both from Stampin' UP). After all the inking was done but prior to the brads being added I ran both pieces of paper through the Big Shot using a snowflake embossing folder to add more dimension and depth to the card. Hi Everyone, I made this card for a super nice couple who just had their first baby! How exciting and wonderful for them. I started this card by stamping a small flower stamp with versa mark all over the outside and inside to get a tone on tone affect. Then used patterned paper, using the eyelet border punch, for a layer. Topped that with the solid color card stock. Stamped the peacock and coloured it with Stampin' UP markers and used a glitter pen all over it to have it sparkle (if you look closely you can see the glitter). I also used the corner punch to make them a bit more fancy. To finish the card I used the green ribbon, tying to the side and stamped Congratulations at the bottom. I hope you like it. Hi everyone, I made this reflection card for my husband's website moderators to thank them for their hard work. (www.ivf.ca). This particular card I used a gold glitter pen to have the trees in front of the moon to look frosty and stand out more, it looks really pretty. The picture I post above this one is the actual card that we are sending to the mods. No glitter but still they look very nice. I sponged on the ink, as opposed to using a brayer ( I didn't have one then). I also stamped the image on glossy white paper, this makes it easier to sponge and blend the inks. I hope you enjoy it. Hi everyone, Here is Thank you card #2. I made this one as a window card and heat embossed the tree on the inside with copper coloured embossing powder. Stamped the outside layer with versamark just to give the watermark look of the flowers, tied a small bow and attached it with a glue dot and stamped Thank you and used an oval and scalloped oval punch to finish it off with some dimensionals. I like how it turned out and the best thing about these cards is that they fit perfectly in an envelope for mailing! Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Everyone, I thought is was about time I shared another card creation of Anna's, she has layered the card base with a lighter color of the cardstock, stamped Priceless and added a couple of handmade flowers after she stamped all over the surface with versa mark and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Diaper Cake

Hi everyone! We are having a joint baby shower at work this week, two of our girls recently had babies, one boy and one girl so I decided to make them each a Diaper Cake to celebrate! Butterfly Iris fold card

I thought I would show you my Iris fold Butterfly card, I love how it turned out. I used 4 different patterned papers, glittered the edges and attached to pink cardstock. I was surprised at how uncomplicated this was. When I first saw the pattern I was really concerned because it looked so busy but once you start working on it, it actually makes SENSE!! Easter Baskets

Hi everyone! These are little Easter baskets of goodies that I made for Anna's daycare. Very easy and colourful. I made a box, added a contrasting handle attached with coordinating brads and added a mixture of coloured flowers. For an extra little something I tied a cute little curly yellow and white ribbon on the handle. The best touch of course was the coloured grass and goodies which were jelly beans and chocolate eggs!!! yummy! The picture below is a little more up close so you can see everything together. Teabag folding has been around for some time, is really very easy and I love the end result, but I seem to lack the time to actually sit down and just do it!! Easter Card Swap

Hi again, I thought I would also share with you my Easter Card Swap! We could do either Easter or Thank you themes and had to use an embellishment and ribbon (my embellishment is a little wooden bunny on the inside, sorry I didn't take a photo of that). I had to make 14 of these, 13 for the swap and of course one for me! these were a lot of fun to make. I just set up an assembly line and kept going until they were all finished. I really like the springy colour results, and of course the glitter egg and flower helps too!! Thanks for looking!

I thought I would share with you a Birthday Card that I made for my Uncle this year. His birthday was on the 10th of February and after about 15 years (maybe more) I finally remembered to send a card. I think about it every year but somehow end up missing the day. Does that ever happen to you?? Anyway, I hope he notices that it is hand made!! I used Ranger inks and a crimping tool to give the paper a wavy look, stamped the Happy Birthday with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Father's Day Card

Hi everyone, Today I thought I would show you a Father's Day card I made last year using the Ranger Alcohol Inks. I love the look of how the inks blend and that each one is it's own one of a kind piece of art. The musical butterflies are also stamped on a second piece of inked paper then cut out, matted and added to the card (2 with dimensionals to give the card some extra dimension). The two techniques used to make the alcohol ink cards were pouncing and smooshing! Love it!! Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's Day Card

Hi everyone, This card was made for a challenge on Paper Craft Planet, we were to do a Valentine's card with a cut out heart. I printed the vintage picture from Vintage Crafts twice, cut out the centre heart along with a couple flowers and attached them with dimensionals, also added ribbon and silver heart embelishment.
